Position: Part-Time, FLSA Non-Exempt, 19 hours weekly, 10 Months/40 Weeks (1Aug-31May less 15Dec18-9Jan19 + 3-4 EWC Registration Days in Summer 2019), Work location is Main Campus (Torrington, WY)

Start Date: 1 August 2018


Job Summary:       

Support students in the areas of personal counseling (crisis/emergent) and assist with and process requests for disability accommodations

-Coordinate and schedule counseling services support from Practicum/Preceptor graduate students

-Schedule, prepare, and teach life skills workshops/seminars to students

-Coordinate other activities that support, facilitate, and enhance students’ in and out-of-class experiences

-Aid Student Services in accomplishing departmental goals/projects


Essential Duties:                  

-Provide personal crisis counseling, alert advising, and maintain regular/recurring office availability; refer students to off-campus resources

-Assist students, parents, and faculty with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations services and process these requests

-Facilitate various support groups and student group counseling as needed

-Coordinate/schedule the work/activities of up to two Practicum counselors

-Prepare and deliver special presentations, workshops/seminars, and educational programs that inform/instruct students on alcohol/drug use and abuse

-Assist understanding of career assessment results and follow-up with students

-Member of Behavioral Intervention Team

-Serve as Academic Advisor and be “On Call” in special circumstances

-Participate in office programs and services to support students


Minimum Qualifications:    

-Graduation from a CACREP or CORE accredited program with a master’s degree in Counseling or related field

-Licensed professional Counselor in Wyoming as LPC, LAT, or LMFT

-Two years work experience in counseling and related programs

-Proven skill and ability to interact/work with a diverse population

-Excellent written and verbal communications and record keeping

-Ability to create/deliver effective public class and workshop presentations

-Good knowledge of academic & personal counseling principles/practices

-Current and valid state-issued Driver License


Wage Rate: $28.10 per hour; approximately $23,126 for the 10 months
