WCA Fall Conference 2026

Resilience in a Changing World

October 1–3, 2026 | Casper, Wyoming

The Wyoming Counseling Association (WCA) invites dynamic, engaging presenters to submit proposals for our 2026 Fall Conference.

As our profession continues to navigate rapid change, we are centering this year’s conference on resilience—in our clients, our communities, and ourselves. We are especially seeking experiential and workshop-style sessions that provide hands-on learning, practical tools, and strategies that attendees can immediately apply in their work.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome proposals that are interactive, innovative, and grounded in practice. Strong submissions will include opportunities for participant engagement such as discussion, movement, guided practice, or creative modalities.

Priority areas include:

  • Experiential and interactive learning approaches

  • Suicide assessment and intervention

  • Professional ethics

  • Trauma-informed and somatic-based practices

  • Expressive arts and play therapy

  • Nature-based or equine-assisted interventions

  • Cultural humility and mental health in rural communities

  • Counselor self-care and burnout prevention

  • Innovative programs, research, and evidence-based practices

  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with allied health professionals

  • Strategies addressing current societal challenges and diverse populations

  • Programs with a strong connection to Wyoming or the surrounding region

 

We are particularly interested in sessions that offer practical skills, tools, and techniques participants can use immediately after the conference.

Who Should Submit

We encourage submissions from:

  • Counselors and mental health professionals

  • Social workers, MFTs, and addictions specialists

  • Educators and researchers

  • Graduate students and emerging professionals

  • Allied health professionals collaborating with counselors

 

Whether you’re a seasoned presenter or sharing your expertise for the first time, your voice and experience are valued.

Conference Audience

Attendees include a diverse group of professionals working across settings, including:

  • Mental health and healthcare systems

  • Schools and higher education

  • Private practice

  • Community agencies

  • Corrections, military, and government

 

Presentation Format & Expectations

  • All presentations will be delivered in person in Casper, Wyoming

  • Sessions may be attended by participants in person or virtually

  • Presentations should be engaging, interactive, and skill-focused

 

Presenter Information

  • This is a volunteer opportunity

  • As a nonprofit organization, WCA is unable to provide speaker honorariums

  • Presenters will receive 50% off conference registration

 

Proposal Requirements

  • Lead presenter must hold at least a bachelor’s degree

  • Presenters must be available to present in person October 1–3, 2026

  • Sales of goods or services are not permitted during sessions
